LIMITED WARRANTY
All Pure Cycles bicycles and framesets sold through Pure Cycles, or an authorized Pure Cycles dealer are subject to the following terms, conditions, and limitations. J&B Importers, Inc. grants each original buyer of a Pure Cycles bicycle or frameset a non-transferable warranty subject to the following limitations, terms, and conditions that state when new this bicycle or frameset is free of defective materials and workmanship.
Lifetime Summary Coverage

All Pure Cycles alloy and steel frames are warranted for the lifetime of the original retail buyer. If at the time of warranty, Pure Cycles does not have available an equivalent frame, the consumer may be offered a similar value substitute.
One (1) Year Summary Coverage
(Subject to limitations, terms, and additional conditions as explained below)
All Pure Cycles forks, parts, and components (except wear items such as tires and tubes) are warranted for 1 year from the date of purchase by the original retail buyer.
All E-bike batteries are warranted for one (1) year from the date of purchase by the original retail buyer with the following exceptions. The battery warranty does not include damage from power surges, use of unapproved chargers (only original equipment charger is approved), improper maintenance, neglect, or normal wear.
Commercial Use Summary Coverage
(Subject to limitations, terms, and additional conditions as explained below)
All Pure Cycles alloy and steel frames, if used for commercial purposes are warranted for one (1) year from the date of purchase by the original buyer.
All original Pure Cycles forks, parts, and components (except wear items such as tires, tubes, and grips) on bicycles, if used for commercial purposes are covered for thirty (30) days from the date of purchase of the original buyer.

- Improper assembly
- Improper maintenance
- Normal wear and tear
- Installation of components, parts, or accessories not originally intended for or compatible with the bicycle as sold
- Damage or failure due to accident, misuse, abuse, or neglect
- Labor charges for part replacement or changeover
- Paint/finish
ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS
This Limited Warranty is made only to the original owner of this new Pure Cycles bicycle or frameset purchased from Pure Cycles, or a Pure Cycles dealer, and it shall remain in force only as long as the original owner retains ownership of the Pure Cycles bicycle or frameset. This Limited Warranty is not transferable. In order to exercise your rights under this limited warranty, the bicycle or frameset must be presented to Pure Cycles, or a Pure Cycles dealer, together with a receipt, bill of sale, or other appropriate written proof of purchase which identifies the bicycle or frameset by serial number. Should this bicycle or any part be determined by Pure Cycles to be covered by this warranty, it will be repaired or replaced, at the sole option of Pure Cycles, which will be conclusive and binding. The original owner shall pay all labor charges connected with the repair or replacement of all parts. Claims made outside the USA may be subject to fees and additional restrictions. This limited warranty does not apply to normal wear and tear or to claimed defects, malfunctions, or failures that result from abuse, neglect, improper assembly, improper maintenance, alteration, collision, crash, or misuse. This bicycle has not been designed, engineered, distributed, manufactured, or retailed to be equipped with a motor of any kind, for uses in trick riding, ramp riding, jumping, aggressive riding, riding on severe terrain, riding in severe climates, riding with heavy loads, commercial activities, or any similar activities; such uses may damage the bicycle and can cause serious injury to the rider, and in all cases will void this warranty.
USEFUL PRODUCT LIFE CYCLE
Every Pure Cycles bicycle or frameset has a useful product life cycle. The length of that useful product life cycle will vary with the construction and materials of the bicycle or frameset, the maintenance and care the bicycle or frameset receives over its useful product life cycle, and the type and amount of use the bicycle or frameset is subject to. Uses in competitive events, trick riding, ramp riding, jumping, aggressive riding, riding on severe terrain, riding in severe climates, riding with heavy loads, commercial activities, and other types of non-standard use can dramatically shorten the useful product life cycle of a Pure Cycles bicycle or frameset. Any one or a combination of these conditions may result in an unpredictable failure of a Pure Cycles bicycle or frameset that would not be covered by this warranty. All Pure Cycles bicycles or framesets should be periodically checked by a Pure Cycles dealer for indicators of stress and/or potential failure, including cracks, deformation, corrosion, paint peeling, dents, and any other indicators of potential problems, inappropriate use, or abuse. These are important safety checks and very important to help prevent accidents, and bodily injury to the rider and shorten the useful product life cycle of a Pure Cycles bicycle or frameset.
THIS IS AN INTEGRATED AND FINAL STATEMENT OF THE Pure Cycles LIMITED WARRANTY. Pure Cycles DOES NOT AUTHORIZE OR ALLOW ANYONE, INCLUDING ITS DEALERS, TO EXTEND ANY OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, FOR Pure Cycles. NO OTHER REPRESENTATION, AND NO STATEMENT OF ANYONE BUT Pure Cycles, INCLUDING A DEMONSTRATION OF ANY KIND BY ANYONE SHALL CREATE ANY WARRANTY REGARDING THIS BICYCLE. ALL OF THE REMEDIES AVAILABLE TO THE ORIGINAL OWNER ARE STATED HEREIN. IT IS AGREED THAT Pure Cycles LIABILITY UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY SHALL BE NO GREATER THAN THE AMOUNT OF THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE AND IN NO EVENT SHALL Pure Cycles BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
DISCLAIMER
All other remedies, obligations, liabilities, rights, warranties, express or implied, arising from law or otherwise, including but not limited to, any claimed implied warranty of merchantability, any claimed implied warranty arising from course of performance, course of dealing or usage of trade, and any claimed implied warranty of fitness, are disclaimed by Pure Cycles and waived by the original owner. Some states, jurisdictions, countries, provinces, do not allow some or all of the limitations set for herein, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. If any provision is found unenforceable, only that provision shall be stricken, and all others shall apply. This limited warranty does provide the original owner with certain legal rights and recourse and the original owner may possess other rights or recourse, depending on the state, jurisdiction, country, or province.
Frequently Asked Questions
The general rider weight limit for our bikes is 275 lbs with 10 lbs of cargo for a max of 285lbs. Our gravel bikes will have a max rider weight of 250 lbs with 30lbs of cargo for a 330lb total weight limit.
If it is one of our Original Models from size XS - XXL, the largest tires width this model can fit is a 700x32c Road Tire on the stock wheelset.
The Original Model is size XXS can fit up to a 650x25c Road Tire.
We offer wheelsets that have a flip-flop hub design on our Original and Premium Models.

Our bikes are designed in Los Angeles, Calif. and manufactured in China from parts sourced from all over the world - just like your iPhone 😃
Once your order is placed it should take 1 to 2 business days to ship and another 3 to 4 days for your order to arrive. Seasonal and weather condition factors can affect these estimates.
Our Original, Coaster and Urban Commuter models will all have Presta valves which will need to be inflated with a presta valve pump or a presta valve adapter that will allow you to use any standard (schrader) pump or inflator. Even the one at the gas station! Our Pure City models will have standard valves and will not need an adapter.
Each bicycle product page will have its own specific sizing chart under the sizing tab. This will allow you to match your height and standover height. Your local bike shop should also be able to size you up for the model you are interested in.
Yes! The 22.2mm brake clamp and 25.4mm stem clamp will fit on the Bullhorn and Drop bars.
Warranty is activated with professional assembly. This can be any established bike shop that will be able to give you a receipt listing bicycle build/assembly for bicycle warranty or part install for coverage on parts and accessories.

Since our hubs and rims change over time due to components changing and improving it is difficult to give an accurate measurement for your exact bike. Your best option is to take your bike into your local bike shop for them to measure and cut replacement spokes accordingly.
Unfortunately, we only offer brand new wheelsets sold as a complete color matched set.
We base the sizing for our models on the frame rather than the stack/reach measurements since reach can be modified easily with a shorter/longer stem.

It looks like we need to jump-start your Volta in order to get it to charge. I’m guessing that even though your bike has been charging for days that the light on the charger has only shown green. It is important that the light on the charger shows orange, which indicates that it is actually taking a charge (and then shows green once it is 100% charged). This jump starting process is necessary when you haven’t used the bike in quite a while and it is then necessary to wake the bike up. The down arrow means that the bike is at 0% battery.To jump start please follow the steps below:
(1) Plug the bike into the charger and the charger into the wall
(2) Lift up the rear wheel and then pedal the pedals forward with your hand until the light on the charger turns from green to orange (this process is easier with 2 people but can still easily be done by 1 person).
(3) It will take anywhere from 5 to 50 rotations to get the light to turn from green to orange (please make sure to use force).
(4) Once the light turns orange please let the bike charge for 2.5 hours (until fully charged - the light will show green).
(5) Ride and enjoy!
Serial Number Format
- Serial numbers on bicycles produced before 2020 may be formatted differently. Please contact Pure Cycles for guidance.
- The serial number DOES NOT INCLUDE a model identifier. The bike itself will have a model name somewhere on the frame.
- The serial number DOES NOT INCLUDE a paint color identifier.
Serial Number Location
The serial number on your Pure Cycles bicycle is permanently stamped on the frame.
Tips:
- The serial number is usually located under the bike's bottom bracket, but it can also be on the head tube or on the inside or outside edge of the rear dropout.
- The serial number is stamped into the frame before painting and can be challenging to read, so be sure to inspect carefully when documenting this number.
- The serial number may be formatted as one or two rows and stamped along the edge or across the BB shell.

Record Your Serial Number
Recording the serial number of your bicycle is a good idea for several reasons:
1. Theft Prevention and Recovery: If your bike is stolen, having the serial number recorded will help law enforcement agencies identify and recover it. The serial number is a unique identifier for your bicycle, and many police departments use these numbers in their databases for stolen property.
2. Proof of Ownership: In the event that you need to prove that the bicycle is yours, the serial number can serve as proof of ownership. This is particularly useful if you need to claim the bike from police custody or deal with insurance claims.
3. Insurance Purposes: Some insurance policies for bicycles or personal property might require a serial number to provide coverage or to process a claim if your bike is lost or stolen.
4. Warranty Claims: If you ever need to make a warranty claim, the manufacturer may require the serial number to verify the bike’s model and age.
Remember to keep this information secure and private, as it is unique to your bicycle.

1. Are the rims and tires on the Adventure AL designed for tubed or tubeless setups?
Yes, the rims and tires on the Adventure AL are designed to work with both tubed and tubeless setups. However, the Adventure AL complete bike does not come stock with tubeless-compatible tape and valves. It is up to the retailer or consumer to select compatible tubeless tape and valves to achieve the best results.
2. What is the inner width of the Adventure AL rim?
The Adventure AL rim has a 25mm inner width.

3. What tubeless tape width should I use for the Adventure AL rim?
It is recommended to add 4-5mm to the inner width of the rim when selecting the tape. Here are some tape recommendations:
• DT Tubeless Ready Tape, 29mm / 10m roll (10m roll is enough for 5 wheels)
• WTB TCS Tape, 30mm / 11m roll (11m roll / Enough for 5 wheels)
4. What tubeless valve lengths are recommended for the Adventure AL rim?
Here are some valve recommendations:
• WTB TCS Tubeless Valves, 46mm (Sold in pairs)
• Origin8 Tubeless Alloy Presta Valves, 44mm (Sold individually)
5. How much sealant do I need for setting up tubeless tires?
For tires in the range of 700 x 40-50c, 8 ounces of sealant is typically enough for both tires. Here are some sealant recommendations:

How It Works
The Battery Network partners with trusted recycling organizations throughout the country to recover materials from old e-bike batteries and use them to manufacture new products in a safe and environmentally friendly way.
Cost
Pure Cycles partners with The Battery Network to cover the $15 recycling cost for every E-Bike and aftermarket E-Battery we sell. When it’s time to recycle your battery, there is no charge. Simply drop off the battery at your local participating retailer, and The Battery Network will take care of the rest!
When to Recycle Your Battery
After a few years of use, if your battery struggles to hold a charge, has a reduced range, or requires frequent charging, simply return it to your local participating retailer. The Battery Network will handle the rest!
Orders placed on our site should ship within 1-3 business days (weekends excluded) and arrive within 4-5 business days. Once your order is shipped you will receive a shipping confirmation with tracking via your provided email address. If your tracking number fails to update with the provider, please reach out to us for a status update. We will investigate the matter to determine the location of your package. Unfortunately, we have discontinued offering touch-up paint for our bicycles. The complexities of import regulations and the product's short shelf life have posed challenges in maintaining a consistent supply. You might find touch-up paint locally at hardware stores, auto parts stores, and hobby shops, often stocking a variety colors that could closely match your bicycle. We suggest testing color match on a non-visible section of your frame before applying to more visible areas.
We always recommend having your bike built up from the box by your local bike shop. This ensures that every part of your bike is properly tightened, adjusted and lubricated for the best and safest possible riding experience. Whether your goal is to simplify your daily commute, reduce your carbon footprint, or simply enjoy the outdoors on a leisurely ride, the FLUX is designed with your needs in mind.
Tested to UL 2849 and UL 2271 standards, the FLUX is a reliable, rider-focused solution for everyday electric mobility.

Before Your First Ride
To ensure you have the best experience, follow these steps before your first ride:
1. Assembly: If you purchased your new bicycle from a bike shop, it comes fully assembled and ready to ride. If your new bike came unassembled in the box, we highly recommend you seek the services of a trained mechanic at your local bike shop to ensure your new e-bike is assembled correctly and ready to ride.
2. Charge Your Battery: Use the supplied charger to fully charge the battery before your first ride. A full charge typically takes around 7-8 hours.
3. Safety Check: Before your first ride and regularly before each subsequent ride, conduct the safety checks detailed below and any other safety verifications detailed in the manuals to guarantee the bicycle's safety for riding. Ignoring this warning could lead to severe personal injury.
Ensure all fasteners, including nuts, bolts, and screws, are appropriately tightened for the seatpost, stem, and handlebar. Check their tightness by securing the bike between your legs and attempting to twist, push, and pull the handlebar and saddle. If any component moves, realign it, increase bolt tension, and repeat until there is no movement.
Inspect tires and wheels to ensure they spin freely without any wobbling. Wheels should be centered within the frame and fork. If there’s any wobbling or misalignment, and you are uncertain about the cause, seek assistance from a Pure Cycles Retailer or other reputable bike shop.
4. Adjust Your Saddle: Set the saddle height for comfortable pedaling. With the pedal at its lowest position, your leg should have a slight bend at the knee. Adjust the saddle fore and aft to ensure proper reach to the handlebars, and check the tilt to maintain a level or slightly angled position for optimal comfort and support.
5. Check Your Handlebar Position: Ensure the handlebars are properly aligned and adjusted to a comfortable height and angle for optimal control and comfort.
6. Check Tire Pressure: Proper tire pressure ensures a smooth and safe ride. Refer to the tire sidewall for the recommended PSI (pounds per square inch) and inflate as necessary.
7. Wear a Helmet: Always wear a certified helmet to protect yourself, and review local laws for any additional required safety equipment.
8. Use lights at night: For your safety, always use lights at night and review local laws for specific lighting requirements.

Powering On Your E-Bike
To turn on your FLUX e-bike, Press the (⏻) Power button on the handlebar-mounted display for at least 2 seconds until the display lights up. The display will default to the main screen, which shows the Battery Level, Current Speed, Power Assist Mode, Trip Distance, and Estimated Range.

Note: When your e-bike is powered on, the throttle remains disabled until you switch the Power Assist System (PAS) mode from Off, Eco, Tour, Sport, Sport +, or Boost mode.
Using the Display
The display on your FLUX e-bike serves as a central hub of information and control, enhancing your riding experience by providing key data and allowing you to adjust various settings.
Adjust the Power Assist System (PAS) Levels: Choose from O (no assist) to Boost mode for maximum assistance. Use the (+) Plus and (-) Minus buttons to adjust between modes.
- (O) Off
- (E) Eco Mode
- (T) Touring Mode
- (S) Sport Mode
- (S+) Sport Plus Mode
- (B) Boost Mode


Note: The Power Assist System (PAS) responds directly to your pedaling effort. The bike’s torque sensor, located in the bottom bracket, measures the force you apply while pedaling and automatically adjusts the motor’s assistance to match your input, providing a smooth and efficient ride.
Turning Lights On/Off: Press and hold the (+) Plus button for at least 2 seconds to turn the lights on or off.

Using Walk Assist Mode: Set the pedal assist level to “Walk Mode” using the (-) Minus Button, then press and hold the (-) Minus button to engage Walk Assist. The bike will move at walking speed as long as you continue pressing the (-) Minus button.

Navigating the Display Screens: Cycle through the (4) four different screens by briefly pressing the (⏻) Power button.
1. Main Display: Battery Level, Current Speed, Current Power Assist Level /Mode (O, Eco, Touring, Sport, Sport +, Boost), Trip Distance, and Estimated Range

2. Screen 2: Battery Level, Current PAS Mode, Current Speed, Trip Distance, and Odometer

3. Screen 3: Battery Level, Current PAS Mode, Max Speed, Average Speed, & Pedal Cadence.

4. Screen 4: Battery Level, Calories Burned, Ride Time, & Power Output (Watts)

Using the Throttle
The FLUX has a throttle, allowing you to accelerate without pedaling. Gently press the throttle to increase speed, but be cautious in high-traffic or pedestrian areas.

NOTE: Using the throttle bypasses the current PAS mode, allowing the bike to accelerate up to 20 MPH. Relying solely on the throttle reduces your e-bike’s range by draining the battery faster. For optimal range and battery life, use the throttle sparingly and combine it with pedaling.
Starting Your Ride
Adjust the Power-Assist Levels: Use the (+) Plus and (-) Minus buttons to adjust between PAS Modes. Choose from (O) Off for no power assist to (B) Boost mode for maximum assistance.
The Power Assist System (PAS) responds to your pedaling. The bike’s torque sensor in the bottom bracket detects how hard you’re pedaling and adjusts the motor’s assistance accordingly.
If you're new to electric bikes, start in (E) Eco Mode and spend some time getting used to the Power-Assist System.
- Take it Slow at First: Practice in a safe area before venturing out onto busy roads or paths.
- Stay Visible: Wear bright clothing and use your lights when riding at night or in low-light conditions.
- Check Local Regulations: Laws regarding e-bike usage vary, so ensure you’re familiar with the rules in your area.
Understanding the 6 Power Assist System (PAS) Modes
Power Assist System (PAS) modes on an electric bicycle are designed to control how much assistance the motor provides while you’re pedaling. Each PAS mode offers varying levels of support to suit different terrains, riding styles, and energy needs. Here’s a breakdown of the purpose of each typical PAS mode:
1. O (Off) Mode:
Purpose: In this mode, the motor is completely disengaged, and you ride the e-bike like a traditional bicycle. It’s useful when you want a full workout or conserve all of the battery for later use.
Best For: When the rider wants no motor assistance or to conserve battery power entirely.
2. E (Eco) Mode:

Purpose: This mode provides minimal motor assistance, allowing you to rely more on your pedaling effort. It is ideal for flat terrain, leisurely rides, or conserving battery life over long distances.
Best For: Riders who want to extend their range and use the e-bike primarily for light exercise or casual rides.
3. T (Tour) Mode:

Purpose: This mode offers moderate assistance, balancing pedal power, and motor assistance. It is perfect for riding in slightly hilly areas or for a consistent level of support without using too much battery.
Best For: Daily commuting, recreational rides, and mixed terrain where you need moderate help but still want to maintain a reasonable battery life.
4. S (Sport) Mode:

Purpose: This mode provides higher levels of assistance, making it easier to climb hills or maintain higher speeds with less effort. This mode is helpful for covering ground faster or tackling more challenging terrain.
Best For: Hilly routes, quicker commutes, or when you want more assistance for a relaxed ride at higher speeds.
5. S+ (Sport+) Mode:

Purpose: This mode provides higher levels of assistance, making it easier to climb hills or maintain higher speeds with less effort. This mode is helpful for covering ground faster or tackling more challenging terrain.
Best For: Hilly routes, quicker commutes, or when you want more assistance for a relaxed ride at higher speeds.

Stopping
The FLUX is equipped with disc brakes, which offer significantly more stopping power than traditional brakes. It’s recommended to practice using them in a safe area, as their stronger braking force requires getting used to before venturing onto busy roads or paths.
Note: For optimal stopping power and control, the brakes on your FLUX E-bike are designed to work best when used together—both front and rear.
Range

The estimated range of your electric bicycle can vary depending on several factors such as rider weight, terrain, riding style, and assist level. Based on the battery capacity, here is an approximate range.
- Under optimal conditions (low assist, flat terrain): Up to 72 miles
- Under more demanding conditions (high assist, hills): Around 36 miles
Note: Your actual range will vary based on riding conditions and how you use motor assist.
Important: Battery performance will naturally decline over time as the battery ages.
Limitations
- Rider Weight Limit: The maximum rider weight limit for this bicycle is 250 Lbs
- Cargo Weight Limit: The maximum recommended cargo limit is 25 LBS
Battery – Removal
1. Remove the outer cover by gently pushing the release lever downward. Once the cover is released at the top, tilt the cover down slightly and then pull upward somewhat until the bottom tab of the cover clears the frame. 


2. Use the provided key to remove the battery: Support the battery near the top with one hand while turning the key counterclockwise with your other hand to ensure the battery doesn't drop out unexpectedly. Once the battery is released at the top, you can now safely remove it from the downtube in the same way you removed the cover.
Battery – Charging
1. Use the Correct Charger: Always use the charger that comes with your e-bike. Using an incorrect charger will void the warranty and can damage the battery or pose safety risks.
2. Charge Time: Your e-bike has a 48V x 15Ah battery, and the supplied charger operates at two amps per hour. The estimated charge time is 7 hours and 30 minutes.
3. Charge at Room Temperature: Charge the battery in a dry, cool place in close proximity to a working smoke detector, avoiding extreme temperatures. Charging at temperatures outside the range of 40 to 70 °F can harm battery performance and longevity.
4. Monitor Charging: Do not charge the battery unattended or overnight
5. Don't Overcharge: Most modern e-bike batteries and chargers are designed to prevent overcharging, but it's still a good idea to unplug the charger once it's fully charged to avoid any potential issues.
6. Partial Charges Are Okay: Lithium-ion batteries, common in e-bikes, do not suffer from the memory effect seen in older battery types. You can charge them even when they're not fully discharged without affecting their lifespan.
7. Avoid Depleting the Battery Completely: Try to recharge your battery before it's completely empty. It is preferable to keep the charge level between 20 and 80%. Deep discharges can stress the battery and reduce its lifespan.

Battery – Sleep Mode
Sleep mode is a power-saving feature designed to preserve battery life when the bike is not used for an extended period. When the battery enters sleep mode, it shuts down most of its functions to minimize energy consumption. This is particularly useful for preventing the battery from slowly discharging while the bike is stored or not in use for days or weeks.
- If the charge level is 40 - 100%, the battery will go into sleep mode if not used for 30 days.
- If the charge level is 10 - 39%, the battery will go into sleep mode if not used for 14 days.
- If the charge level is 1 - 9%, the battery will go into sleep mode if not used for 48 hours.
- If the charge level is below 1%, the battery will go into sleep mode within 10 minutes.
Important: To wake up your battery from sleep mode, connect it to the charger.
Battery – Storage
If you plan not to use your e-bike for an extended period, like during the winter, it is best to remove the battery pack and store it according to the guidelines below.
1. Optimal Charge Level for Storage: If you won't be using your e-bike for an extended period, store the battery at a 30% to 60% charge level. This range is generally considered ideal for lithium-ion batteries.
2. Temperature Matters: Store the battery in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures. Ideal storage temperatures are between 40 to 70 °F.
3. Recharge Periodically: If you plan to store the battery for a long time, recharge it to the recommended storage level every 3 to 4 months to compensate for the natural discharge that occurs over time.
4. Avoid Humidity and Water Exposure: Keep the battery in a dry environment to prevent corrosion or damage to its components.
5. Physical Protection: Store the battery in a way that avoids physical damage, including punctures or impacts.
Battery – Transportation
When transporting your battery for a more extended period, such as taking it on holiday, you should discharge it to approximately 30% and only fully charge it again at the final destination.
Make sure to handle your battery with care and avoid any impacts and hard shocks during transport.

Mounting the FLUX rear light to the optional rear rack

1. Prepare the rear light
- Loosen the seat clamp with a 6mm hex wrench, remove the seat post from the frame, and then carefully disconnect the rear light cable.
- Gently pull the rear light cable from the integrated seat post clamp assembly. (Loosen the integrated clamp bolts with a 5mm hex wrench to allow enough clearance for the rear light plug.)
- Use an 8mm wrench to detach the light from the plastic seat rail clip. Note: the plastic clip is not required for rack installation.


- Using the existing nuts and washers, secure the rear light to the rear rack with an 8mm wrench.

3. Access the rear light cable
- Cut the 3 zip ties on the underside of the non-drive chain stay, and disconnect the main cable running to the motor.
- Temporarily remove the battery cover and battery
- Using a T25 Torx wrench, remove both bolts securing the lower battery mount. Carefully slide the mount partially out of the frame, being mindful not to damage or disconnect any cables.
- Partially remove the controller to access the rear light cable. To create enough slack for this step, cut the 3 zip ties securing the motor cable and then unplug the rear motor cable near the rear wheel before continuing.




4. Remove the bottom bracket
- Before removing the rear light cable from the seat tube, the bottom bracket must be removed:
- 1. Using an 8 mm hex wrench, remove the drive-side crank arm bolt.
- 2. With a Park Tool CWP-7 Crank Puller or similar, remove the drive-side crank arm
- 3. Using a Park Tool BBT-22 (20 Spline) B.B. Tool or an equivalent, remove the chainring locking by turning it clockwise. TIP: Secure the non-drive-side crank arm to the chainstay with a heavy duty zip tie. This will keep the crank from rotating and make removing the lockring easier.
- 4. Using a Park Tool BBT-29 (16 Notch) B.B. Tool or an equivalent, remove the drive side cup by turning clockwise. WARNING: Do not remove the non-drive-side cup while bottom bracket is still installed, as this will damage the wire.
- 5. Carefully slide the bottom bracket out of the frame from the drive side. Take care note to pull too hard or too far, as the cable is connected to the controller. WARNING: Remove only enough to allow the rear light cable to pass freely through the frame.
4. Re-route the rear light cable
- Once you've located the rear light cable, carefully pull it free from the seat tube, then reroute it through the opening directly beneath the bottom bracket shell.

5. Route the rear light cable along the drive-side chainstay.
- Route the rear light cable along the underside of the drive-side chainstay, following the integrated derailleur cable guides. Cut the existing four zip ties and secure the cable with new ones.

6. Combine the rear light cable with the derailleur cable housing.
- Use cable management accessory P/N 670881 (or equivalent) to neatly route the rear light cable alongside the derailleur housing and guide it up toward up the rear rack.
- Ensure the rear light cable is routed behind the drive-side dropout to protect it from damage during use. Verify that there is adequate clearance so the cable cannot contact the drivetrain.



Why does my e-bike show a different range every time I charge it?
Your e-bike is not calculating range from battery percentage alone.Instead, the display is constantly learning how you ride.
The Bafang system estimates range using:
- how much power you have recently been using
- your assist level
- terrain (hills vs flat)
- rider weight & cargo
- wind resistance
- tire pressure
- throttle vs pedaling
Because these conditions change from ride to ride, the estimated range will also change.
Think of it like your car’s “miles to empty” — it changes depending on whether you were just driving on the highway… or climbing a hill with the A/C on.
How does the bike actually calculate the range?
The bike’s controller measures real electrical energy leaving the battery (not just battery percentage).
It does three things:
- Measures how much current (power) the motor is using in real time
- Calculates how much battery energy remains
- Compares that to how efficiently you have been riding recently
Then it predicts how far you can continue riding if you keep riding the same way.
So the display is not guessing — it is predicting.
Why can two identical bikes show different ranges at 100% charge?
Because the estimate is based on recent riding behavior.

When you use throttle, the system assumes you will continue riding that way and immediately updates the prediction.
So the range number drops quickly — but your battery did not suddenly lose capacity.
You just told the computer:
| “I plan to ride the rest of the trip using maximum power.”
Why does the range sometimes increase while I’m riding?
This surprises people, but it is normal.
If you:
- start pedaling more
- lower the assist level

the motor begins using less electricity than expected.
The system recalculates and the predicted range goes up.
Your bike just realized you are riding more efficiently than before.
Is the range estimate a guarantee?
No. It is a live prediction, not a fixed specification.
The advertised range (for example: “Up to 60 miles”) is measured under controlled test conditions:
- low assist
- steady pedaling
- flat terrain
- moderate rider weight
- no wind
Real-world riding will vary — sometimes higher, sometimes lower.
Does a lower estimate mean my battery is bad?
Almost never.
A weak battery would show:
- rapid percentage drops
- shutting off under load
- failure to fully charge
A changing range estimate is normal operation of the prediction system.
In fact, a constantly changing estimate means the system is working correctly.
What affects range the most?
The biggest factors are:
- Assist level
- Throttle use

The two largest by far are assist level and throttle use.
Why does range drop faster near the end of the battery?

Q: What is the proper way to store a bicycle or e-bike?
For optimal performance, reliability, and service life, bicycles and e-bikes should be stored indoors in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated location, protected from direct sunlight, precipitation, salt air, excessive humidity, extreme temperatures, and corrosive chemicals or fumes.

Damage resulting from environmental exposure, improper storage, neglect, corrosion, moisture intrusion, flooding, saltwater exposure, or prolonged outdoor storage is generally not considered a defect in materials or workmanship and is therefore not covered under warranty.
